Dosa with Coconut Chutney

Dosa is a famous food not only in Southern part of India but is also famous in countries like Srilanka , Malayasia  and Singapore. For The North Indians it forms an item for breakfast. Dosa is accompanied by many pastes such as coconut paste, tomato paste , mint paste.Dosa is a fermented crepe or pancake made from rice batter. There are many variations in dosa. 
Here is a simple recipe for the people who could like to make dosa at home.

Ingedients:

For Dosa Batter :

1. Rice
2. Black Gram(Uradh Dal)
3. Purified Drinking Water
Add salt to taste.

Put all the ingredients in a grinder and make a paste(batter). It is advisable to make the batter minimum 18 hrs before making the dosa. It is required for for the rice to get little fermented. Add salt to taste.

For Coconut Chutney(Coconut Paste)

Ingredients:

1. Coconut - cut into pieces
2. Fried Bengal Gram Pulse (Chana Dal)
3. Green Chilly
4. Purified drinking water
Salt to taste

Put all the ingredients in a grinder and make a paste.






Heat ghee / oil in a frying pan. Pour the batter in the pan in a round action of your arm. Put some onions(if you like) and fry the batter. Once the batter gets to golden color remove it from heat.Serve hot with coconut paste/tomato paste/mint paste.
