Whenever we talk of Bengalis we always remember about fish curries. A number of varieties can be cooked with fish. Here is a simple recipe for fish curry which may be one of your daily recipe.
Cauliflower-potato-Fish Curry
Ingredients:
1.Rohu fish: 3-4 pieces
2.Cauliflower-cut into pieces
3.Onion (chopped)- 1-2 medium
4.Green chillies- 2-3nos.
5.Red Chilly - 1nos.
6.Bay leaf-1nos
7.Green peas-50gm
8.Potatoes-2nos.medium
9.Mustard Oil
10.Turmeric powder- 1tbs
11.Cumin powde-1/2 tbs
12.Hot water
13.Red chilly powder-1/2 tbs
14.Garlic Paste
15.Ginger Paste
Cauliflower-potato-Fish Curry
Ingredients:
1.Rohu fish: 3-4 pieces
2.Cauliflower-cut into pieces
3.Onion (chopped)- 1-2 medium

Peel the potatoes and dice them into cubes.Cut cauliflower as shown.It is always better to steam the cauliflower pieces for a few minutes before cooking.Marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder, red chilly powder and salt. Heat oil in a wok.Put the marinated fish pieces one by one to wok and fry them light.Note that the oil should be heated enough to avoid sticking of the fish pieces to wok.After frying the fish pieces put them aside. Pour some oil (if required) and heat it.Fry cauliflower,potatoes and green peas. Once they are cooked take them out. Pour oil(if required) in wok and heat it. After the oil gets heated add dry red chilly and bay leaf.Stir it well.Add chopped onions,green chillies,garlic paste.Fry them till chopped onions turns golden.Once the onions turn golden add ginger paste,turmeric powder,red chilly powder and cumin powder.Keep stirring the mixture.Once the oil separates add the fried pieces of cauliflower,potatoes and green peas.Mix the spices well with the fried pieces.Now add fried fish pieces.Mix up well.Once all the ingredients are mixed with spices add hot water to wok.Stir till the ingredients gets cooked.Add salt to taste.
